There are some explanations why his first solo album was such a commercial disaster, and I’m gonna give mine. It is not because of album’s quality (which is quite well) but due to fan’s expectations: the music exposed has nothing to do with Soundgarden’s sound, and I guess that their fans where expecting that he would follow that kind of music on this album. I appreciate he didn’t do it, because solo albums from a band-member should be those hidden nooks where an artist could express anything he wants, no matter what it is or the way it is done.
