¿Cómo puede ser que un compositor de este talento no se haya escuchado nunca en España? Para contrastar lo que digo, hagamos un resumen rápido de su carrera musical de Duncan Sheik:

• Ha publicado 5 discos desde 1996, varios de los cuales se han situado en lo alto de las listas americanas durante mucho tiempo.
• Ha compuesto el score de A Hone At The End Of The World.
• Ha escrito tres musicales, gracias a uno de los cuales (Spring Awakening) le premiaron con un premio Grammy y dos Tony.

Ahora que ya se tiene toda la información ¿No es todo ese curriculum motivo suficiente para que le den a conocer? ¿Aunque sólo sea un poquito? En vez de eso se prefiere promocionar a grupos de masas y “triunfitos”, pero no vamos a entrar en discusiones sobre el modelo económico de la industria musical en nuestro pais, porque ni es el lugar ni el momento adecuado. Centrémonos en la música, que es lo que realmente importa. Y para demostrar el buen hacer de este cantautor, he elegido la canción de cierre de su último album de estudio (White Limousine, publicado en 2006): Hymn. Creo que con la buena música, sobran las palabras.
